How to delete your KeyRing account
Where to find it (on phone or computer)
- Open https://bigkeyring.com and log in.
- Tap ⭐ Plans in the bottom navigation bar (or open Plans from the plan card on the Keys screen).
- Scroll to the bottom of the Plans page.
- Expand Account & privacy (collapsed by default).
- Tap Delete account…
Plans → Account & privacy → Delete account…
Confirmation steps (what you will see)
KeyRing uses four steps so deletion is never a single accidental tap.
Step 1 — Permanent warning
Explains that deletion cannot be undone and that you would need a new signup to return later. Choose I understand, continue or Cancel — keep my account.
Step 2 — What will be deleted
Lists the data that will be erased (see below). Continue only if you accept that list.
Step 3 — Checkboxes
You must check all three acknowledgements:
- Deletion is permanent and unrecoverable
- All keys, photos, locations, notes, and matching data will be erased forever
- Using the service again requires creating a new account and starting over
Step 4 — Final typed confirmation
- Type your account email exactly
- Type the word DELETE in all capital letters
- Tap Permanently delete my account
What is deleted
When you complete deletion (for a normal solo workspace), we permanently remove:
- Your login (email/password and linked social sign-in such as Google)
- All keys and lock descriptions / notes / tags
- All key and lock photos stored on our servers
- Matching fingerprints (embeddings) and identify-related usage history
- Map pins, coordinates, and place labels
- Workspace / account records for that account
- Billing link for the workspace (paid subscription canceled in Stripe when possible)
We do not keep a user-restorable backup of your inventory after you delete. Payment processors (e.g. Stripe) may keep payment records under their own legal obligations; that is separate from your KeyRing key library.
What is not restored later
- Your old account, email link, or key library is not reactivated
- You cannot “undo” deletion from the app
- To use KeyRing again: open the site → Sign up / social login → add keys again
Cancel subscription only (keep your data)
If you only want to stop paying and keep your keys, do not delete your account.
- Open ⭐ Plans
- If you are on a paid plan, tap Cancel paid plan / unsubscribe
- Confirm — you return to Free; keys and photos stay
